Fielded is obsessed with scammers and unhinged Japanese cyberpunk

Lindsay Powell, who creates music as Fielded, has dedicated much of her career to overturning assumptions and genre norms. Her Bandcamp profile notes that Fielded began as an experimental noise endeavor before evolving into a style nearer to R&B. Yet from the very start, her approach to the genre has been unsettled, constantly experimenting with what R&B can be. She remains fixated on fraudsters and chaotic Japanese cyberpunk, and this year's entry point for exploring these themes is through her latest work.
